If you love your beats, this is a MOS release that is sure to keep you moving well into the night. Probably more suited for the harder of MOS fans is certainly showcases some great Australian talent we have on the scene in the form of Bass Kleph. The second disc whilst jammed packed with attitude seems to fall short of Afrojack’s offering. Big hits like ‘Pon De Floor’, ‘Bubblegum’ and ‘Let’s Get Nasty’ are great examples of solid electronica. Certainly a clubbing mix of some of the best stuff going around at the moment, this latest mix from the well acclaimed Ministry Of Sound certainly had me forgetting what time it was….even in the middle of the day. Some big names appear on the compilation (other that Afrojack & Bass Kleph) including Major Lazer, fREW, Stafford Brothers, Fatboy Slim. Top three moments (in no particular order): Wippenberg - ‘Pong’, Afrojack’s - ‘Die Hard’ TURN THIS UP LOUD!, fREW - My Heart Stops (actually….this was my number 1). Bass Kleph’s remix of this fREW track is as close to a house flavour across the whole release. The rest is for the dance floor after 2am. Not that there is anything wrong with that! DF

Ministry of Sound’s newest compilation for us Australian’s, is Underground 2010. This features a double CD pack of deck remixes from Bass Kleph and Afrojack. My fascination with MOS, like many of you I’m sure, catapulted (years ago now) with an obsession with house music. This album delivers a ring of 38 contagious electro-house tracks. 38 tracks is a lot to get through, so it’s nice to know which ones are liked immediately.
Afrojack dishes up the first side of this dinner plate shaped compilation. His style is a little hardcore and repetitive for my tastes, but if you’re die hard about eletronica, and hard house then this is right up your alley. I have a feeling ’Now You See It’, ‘Let’s Make It Nasty’ and ‘Pon De Floor’ are going to be crowd pleasers, and I thought they demonstrated his craft the best.
Disc 2, is cranked out by Bass Kleph, and overall my favourite side of the plate. His selections are interesting and varied, with special mention to FatBoy Slim, f REW, and The Stafford Brothers. His particular mixing talents impressed me with his tracks, ‘Sunshine’, and ‘Duro’. These are the kind of tracks which turned my neck from stationery to a movement I only pull out for party-time. They deliver an interesting mix, fluid changeovers and complex instrumentals, which are nothing short of impressive in a non live environment. Undergound 2010 would be great for your next house-party or a gym workout.
Album Favourite, is the extended Wippenberg mix of 'Pong'.

Ministry of Sound needs no introduction. Their annual is hotly anticipated every year, each track a signal of what’s going to be on high-rotation in clubs across the country. So, if the numerous titles get a little confusing; here’s the low-down on this one. Underground is, like the name suggests, an annual release of mixes fresh from the underground club scene, and from emerging artists. If you’re into house in a big way, or are after the next step up from commercial house tracks that are sweeping the charts, this is the compilation for you. 2010’s mix is no different. Mixed by rising house legends – Afrojack, and Bass Kleph – this is a monster collection boasting 38 tracks over two discs. Some of the highlights include D.I.M’s ‘Lyposuct’, mixed by Afrojack, and with a lyric-focused introduction that ties in well to the tone of the track, fRew’s ‘My Heart Stops’ remixed by Bass Kleph. Some big names in music make the cut, with Fatboy Slim’s ‘What the F***’ remixed by Funkagenda, and The Stafford Brother’s ‘Speaker Freakers (Instrumental Mix)’. Now to turn off the lights, bring out the strobe, press play, and hold your own rave in your underwear.

If you’re into up-and-coming artists with a promising collection of dance and house tracks; this CD is definitely a must have, bursting and ready to play. Whether it’s for gifts, the latest music collection or just for a variety of dance catchy tracks that you are craving; this is sure to settle your dancing shoes and ready to party heartbeats. It consists of various artists including Oz’s own Bass Kleph also known as Stu Tyson with a couple of tracks including Sunshine. A favourite of mine is #2 lets make nasty with the pun intended and #8 Polkadots…just etches a smile on my face no real reason, maybe just the words itself however I do like the beat! With other artists to name just a few include Dean Newton, Fatboy Slim, Matteo Di Marr, Olivier Giacomotto and Afrojack who posses most of the titles…you will be entertained for hours! Overall some are catchy, other are a little long, dirty, some better than others yet this 2CD appears to have been made under the influence of meticulous intelligence, attention to detail and a great ear for mixing of beats exploding with a collection of artists that cater for the atmosphere or venue where good music and dancing is a real passion! This 2CD amalgamates reoccurring musical rhythms that have us listeners intrigued - wanting and listening for the next, then the next, then the next. Although, if you’re not into house and dance, like all other Ministry of sounds CDs this may not be your ideal piece, but for those true loyal listeners of MOS – you wont be disappointed! My predication is its going to sell like hotcakes! Get your Easter bunny baskets ready as its going to sell like HOT HOT HOT!
