Meiko is 'Stuck On You'
Rating: 1/6/2012
Rising singer/songwriter Meiko returns with her second solo release The Bright Side this July, with Stuck On You as the debut single, which is available now to download.
Stuck on You has already created a buzz in the U.S with the video being debuted on Perezhilton.com and in Australia being used on a Channel 7 promo nationally, for the upcoming series Winners and Losers.
The Bright Side features eleven songs that blend sumptuous folk-pop with thumping electronic beats that Meiko helped create with producers Jimmy Messer, Greg Collins and Belgian electro-pop wiz Styrofoam, known for his remixes of songs by The Postal Service and The Submarines.
Meiko, whose name (pronounced MEE-ko) is derived from her one-fourth Japanese heritage, grew up in Roberta, Georgia – population: 800. Her southern charm, dry humor and observational songwriting style give The Bright Side a powerful, artistic punch.
The Bright Side follows Meiko’s acclaimed 2007 release which debuted at #1 on the U.S. iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart with more than 200,000 song downloads sold. There were also TV appearances on “Conan” and “Last Call with Carson Daly,” and multiple film and television song placements, including prime spots on “Grey’s Anatomy”, “One Tree Hill”, “Pretty Little Liars” and “10 Things I Hate About You” among others.
